Welcome to Who Is Theodore Us?
This blog will in no way attempt to answer this question but instead chronicle my time spent wargaming and painting.

Work in progress:
A dwarf captain for my force. I only have one painted thus far so he ought to prove useful. I'll photograph the whole army at some point.

Orc archer

Work in progress:
This is part of the original metal LOTR orcs from the Gamesworkshop strategy battle game. I regret never collecting the whole bunch before they were discontinued but I plan to eventually collect and paint the whole crew. They merit a bit more care than the batch treatment applied to their plastic kin.

Isengard Commanders

I experimented a little with some green washes and watered down rusty brown for Grishnakh's plate armour. The overall model is a good result.

This captain is converted using a simple head swap and a little green stuff. It took ages to hack the head off, before adding the one from the conversion sprue.

This converted banner bearer is perhaps my favourite conversion to date. I used a broken pikeman and some brass rod. I used some buttons from my friend's craft collection, in the middle of which I sculpted the white hands. I also modelled a glove on top of the haft and some straps and rivets to make it more convincing at the back. The overall concept is inspired by Roman legionary standard, many of which coincidentally had a hand at the top. I love the Roman military and it seemed fitting given the Romanesque lorica segmentica doned by the Isengard soldiers.

Scouts

Work in progress:
These Uruk Hai scouts are going to bolster the ranks of my Isengard legion. I'll photograph the whole army at some point.

These colourful characters are the OOP warhammer chaos familiars. They were so fun to paint and sometimes it's nice to have something like this to break up the task of painting an army. I used the 'evil eye' symbol for the pendant held by the robed miscreant on the right.

Horses and an Eagle

Lord of the Rings has always been an interest of mine since reading the Hobbit as a boy. Here are some of my current works in progress:

I am starting a new Rohan army. I'm aiming on having the whole army mounted. I've currently painted a command group and 12 infantry (I'll post pictures soon). These are the horses I'm working on for the first batch of riders. I really struggle to paint horses and am not totally happy with how they are coming along, but will wait until they are finished to make a judgment.

I'm also working on a mounted Glorfindel - again practising on the horse which I'm painting as a grey.
Finally, here is Gwahir that I've nearly finished. He just needs his eyes finishing, varnishing and basing. He's been quite quick to do and I'm looking forward to fielding him in a game as it will give some variation to my good armies.
